Chavayan Village
We were welcomed by the sign in the roundabout in Chavayan Village.
Sabtang Weavers’ Association
There is a mini Nipa hut that showcases some of the materials, and products that the weavers from sabtang uses and sells.
Leaves from Palm trees are used to make the Ivatan slippers, Vakul, and Kanayi.
The Neighborhood
We quickly felt the ambiance of a quiet and relaxing neighborhood.
There is nobody outside except for us. I think it’s also because it was hot outside.
There are a lot of stone houses in Sabtang than in Basco, and some of these houses can be found here in Chavayan Village.
Here is the church in the village.
At the end of the village, an attractive stone house can be seen.
First, there is this cottage beside the house. It’s nice to stay here for a while to hide from the scorching heat.
We got to look closely at the house. It looks like newly renovated and was styled like the traditional Ivatan stone house, with a touch of country style house.
We went further and looked at the other side.
Peep Hole
At the other side of the house, a pole with a hole can be seen. We were like “what is this thing?” because it really looks like out of place, but obviously it supposed to do something.
我们的导游告诉我们如何使用它。我们甲型肝炎e to go at the other side and pose, while he takes our picture.
The outcome is kinda cute.
